The yatra will end with a huge rally in Patna on 1 September, which the Congress is describing a decisive moment in the battle to protect the soul of Indian democracy. In this journey lasting 16 days, Rahul Gandhi will cover 23 districts including Munger, Katihar, Purnia, Supaul, Sitamarhi and Darbhanga.

Rahul Gandhi’s visit to 1300km in Bihar

During a press conference in Delhi, Congress spokesperson Pawan Kheda, while presenting the outline of the yatra, said that Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ will be 1,300 km in Bihar, which will pass through important constituencies and collect public support in areas where the allegations of being denied franchise are the most serious.

Kheda announced that this is not just a journey. This is a mass movement. Voter Adhikar Yatra will prove to be a milestone in the history of democracy. He further said that this is a protest against a well-planned conspiracy to suppress the voice of the poor, Dalits, backward, tribals, minorities and citizens lying on the marginalized.

Congress attacks on Election Commission regarding SIR

The Congress is continuously targeting the Election Commission regarding SIR and is accusing the ruling BJP of collusion to manipulate the voter list under the guise of the process. Recently, citing the intervention of the Supreme Court, Kheda said that the Election Commission agreed to investigate the discrepancies raised by the opposition and civil society only after judicial pressure.
