For the first time after independence, an important meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) was held in Bihar. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and senior party leaders were involved in this meeting held in Patna on Wednesday (September 24, 2025). The meeting lasted for about four and a half hours. During this, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi targeted the Modi government at the Center fiercely.
Referring to the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar, Rahul Gandhi said that the rights of citizens and constitution are being attacked in the country. He told that during the journey in different districts for 15 days, the youth were made aware and the youth of Bihar showed full participation in it. Rahul said that in the Lok Sabha, he has spoken about the caste census and 50% reservation wall in front of Prime Minister Modi.
Special schemes for Dalit and backward class
Rahul Gandhi said that Dalits and backward class should get the right stake. He talked about giving legal recognition to NFS, giving 3 decimal land to landless and giving 50% reservation to EBC, SC, ST, OBC in government contracts. Rahul called it the voice of the public and said that it is not their vision but the vision of the backward back.
Target on BJP, question on Nitish government
Rahul accused the BJP of ending the constitution and said that despite the Nitish government being in power for twenty years, it could not do this work for the backward class and Dalits. He said that the BJP and the state government are using the public only for the vote. Giving the example of hydrogen bomb, Rahul said that when the time comes, there will be correct change.
Tejashwi Yadav’s charge: Government against constitution and reservation
During the press conference after the meeting, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that his fight is to save the constitution and bring the people standing on the last rungs of the society to the mainstream. He committed to fulfill the incomplete dreams of Karpoori Thakur and Lohia. Tejashwi claimed to increase reservation and include people of Dalit-backward society in decisions and policy making. He accused the Nitish government and his supporters of rigging reservation and power.
Direct attack on power and corruption
Tejashwi said that in Bihar, the power in Bihar has been hijacked in the hands of BJP and Shah-Modi and Nitish Kumar is only being used as his face. He also alleged corrupt officials and the racket of power and clarified that his government would be a priority to implement the recommendations of the Mandal Commission. Tejashwi said that there is a shortage of vision in the present government and his policy will only be for the good of the public.
