Telangana Chief Minister A.K. Revanth Reddy met Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday (September 10, 2025). In this important meeting, Chief Minister Reddy urged to transfer 98.20 acres of defense land to the Telangana government for the Gandhi Sarovar project. He informed the Defense Minister about the state government’s plan to establish ‘Gandhi Circle of Unity’ at the confluence of Musi and Jesus rivers. The Chief Minister stressed that the Gandhi Sarovar project will be a permanent symbol of national unity and classic ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.

An attempt is to strengthen the cultural and spiritual heritage of the country- Reddy

Chief Minister Reddy told the Defense Minister that the Gandhi Sarovar project is an important project not only for Telangana, but for the whole country. This project will play an important role in promoting environmental protection, cultural unity and social harmony. He described this project as a unique attempt dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi’s principles and unity of India. The ‘Gandhi Circle of Unity’ proposed at the confluence of Musi and Jesus rivers is an attempt to strengthen the cultural and spiritual heritage of the country.

CM Revanth Reddy sought cooperation from the Ministry of Defense

The Chief Minister urged the Defense Minister to provide necessary support from the Ministry of Defense for this project. He said that transfer of 98.20 acres of land is necessary to complete this project in a timely manner. Reddy also assured that the Telangana government will implement the project with complete transparency and accountability.

Positive and creative discussion held between the two leaders

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh heard the proposal of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy seriously and assured to consider it. This meeting was part of a positive and creative discussion between the two leaders. The Gandhi Sarovar project is considered an important step towards the development of Telangana and promoting national unity.
