KN Rajanna dismissed from cabinet, Congress was responsible for ‘vote theft’ allegations

Karnataka Cooperative Minister K.K. N. Rajanna was dismissed from the cabinet on Monday (August 11, 2025). Chief Minister Siddaramaiah recommended Governor Thawarchand Gehlot to dismiss Rajanna from the cabinet. The Governor accepted the recommendation of the Chief Minister.

Sources in the Chief Minister’s Office told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ that initially Siddaramaiah had asked Rajanna to resign, but when Rajanna opposed the proposal, he was removed from the cabinet. According to sources, the Chief Minister sent a letter to the Governor in the afternoon to remove Rajanna and Raj Bhavan accepted the recommendation.

Because of this the party dismissed

Special Secretary to the Governor, R Prabhuskar, wrote a letter to Karnataka Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh and sent a notification to remove Rajanna from the Council of Ministers. Sources in the Chief Minister’s Office said that recently Rajanna had allegedly blamed his own party -led government in Karnataka for ‘vote theft’ in Mahadevpura assembly constituency during the Lok Sabha elections, due to which he was dismissed. Rajanna is considered a supporter of Siddaramaiah.

Questions raised on Congress party

Actually, KN Rajanna questioned the Congress and said, ‘Was everyone sitting silently after closing his eyes? The party should be ashamed. The Karnataka Minister told PTI that if we start talking on such things, then different opinions will come out. The voter list was ready when our government was in power. At that time, was the Congress sitting quietly with its eyes closed?

He further said that these irregularities took place, this is true. There is nothing to lie in it. We should be ashamed, because these irregularities occurred in front of our eyes. At a time when the party should have lodged an objection, it kept quiet. Significantly, allegations of vote theft have been made against the Election Commission on behalf of Rahul Gandhi.
