Encouraged by the successful visit of the International Space Station (ISS), Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla hoped on Thursday (August 21, 2025) that soon someone will travel from our own capsules, from our rocket, from our earth to space. Group Captain Shukla said at a press conference here that the direct experience of the ISS mission was very precious and better than any training.
He said that India still looks ‘Sare Jahan Se Achhe’. This word was first said by Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma during his space mission in 1984. Regarding his ‘Axiom-4’ mission, Shukla said that the experience gained from the ISS mission will prove to be very useful for India’s ‘Gaganyaan’ mission and he learned a lot during his (Axiaom-4) mission last year.
‘ISS travel quite exciting’
He said, ‘No matter how much you have taken training, but even after that, when you sit in the rocket and the engine is turned on and you fly, I think it is a very different feeling. I had never thought about how it would be felt during this time.
Shukla said, ‘The experience of riding in a rocket to the ISS visit to the return to the earth was incredible. It was so exciting and amazing that I do not have words to describe it.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh said this
At the press conference, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that the Space Department has been in existence for almost 70 years and officially ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) was established in 1969. He said, ‘Why all this happened in the last few years, why could it not happen in the last five-six decades.
He said that we have started implementing those strategies which are being followed by the rest of the world. Now our standards are global standard, our strategies are global and the criteria on which we are trying to meet are also global.
What did Captain Prashant B. Nair say while referring to Ramayana
Group Captain Prashant B Nair, who is in the crew of India’s’ Gaganyaan ‘mission, said,’ Diwali is coming a few months from now. This is the time when Ram ji entered Ayodhya. Right now, if I can call myself Laxman, even if I am older than ‘Shukla’ in age, I would like to become Lakshman of this Ram someday. We should remember that Rama and Laxman had helped a lot from the entire monkey army. Here our magnificent team of ISRO is like a monkey army, without which it would not have been possible.
Shukla thanked the Government of India, ISRO and all those who worked hard to successfully complete the mission. He said, ‘I also want to thank all those people who helped in spreading this mission to the people of our country and made it accessible to see everyone.’
Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla spoke about the mission
Shukla said that in the end, I want to express gratitude to every citizen of this country, who behaved in such a way that it seemed that this mission was really his. I really felt that it was a mission for the whole country. Explaining in detail about the mission, Shukla said, “We rode in crew dragon and flew from Falcon-9 vehicle and reached the international space station and then came back to the earth after two weeks.”
He said, “The launch was made from Cape Canverals in Florida and the return was made on the banks of San Diego in the Pacific Ocean. Crew Dragon is one of the three vehicles that can currently take humans into space. We were lucky that we received training on Soyuz and Crew Dragon, which was launched from Russia.
ISS a laboratory revolving around Earth
Shukla said, ‘As you know, the International Space Station (ISS) is a laboratory revolving around the Earth, which has been working since the year 2000. It is using state -of -the -art and is actually an ideal example of international cooperation. Shukla is the first Indian astronaut to travel to ISS.
