Allahabad High Court ordered the order to reopen these 30 madrasas of UP, Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind said this

On Thursday (August 21, 2025), the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court, while giving an important verdict on the anti -madrasa action of the Uttar Pradesh government, has ordered immediate opening of 30 diny madrasas closed by the government in Shravasti and lifted the ban on educational activities.

This decision was given by the bench of Justice Pankaj Bhatia. On behalf of Madrasas, the matter was advised by the team of lawyers appointed on the instructions of Maulana Mahmud Asad Madani, President of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, including Senior Advocate Prashant Chandra, Advocate Avir Raj Singh and Advocate Ali Muid.

Government notice challenge

The petitioners challenged the government notices in which they were stopped from giving religious education and the institutions were sealed. With several arguments, the petitioners favor that they were not given any opportunity to hear in this case. Earlier on 7 June 2025, the High Court had prohibited the demolition of these madrasas and said that the number of all notices is the same, which shows the negligence of the administration.

Bulldozers action and unilateral steps on madrasas in Shravasti had caused serious concern, causing other madrasas. In such a situation, there was a continuous contact between the responsibilities of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind and Madrasas and finally a case was filed in the Lucknow bench on 25 May by 26 madrasas, in which Madrasa Muin-ul-Islam vs. Uttar Pradesh government was the main side.

‘Justice and Constitution victory’

The responsibility of contact between madrasas and lawyers, Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi, General Secretary of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, Maulana Tariq Shamsi, President of Jamiat Ulama Etah, Maulana Junaid Ahmed and Jamiat Ulama Shravasti General Secretary Maulana Abdul Manan Kasami played.

Maulana Mahmood Madani, president of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, welcomed the court verdict, saying that this decision is the victory of justice and constitution along with the protection of madrasas. He said that the madrasas are like spinal cords for both the country and the mixed. These institutions provide free education to poor children and make them a good person and responsible citizens by improving their personality.

‘Constitution gave right to education’

He said that the government’s irresponsible and bad steps cannot be acceptable in any way. The Constitution has given us the right to education and any government that takes away this right will be called anti-constitution. Maulana Madani congratulated the managers of madrasas and the lawyers of Jamiat on this success from the depths of the heart.
