Indo-US exercise in Alaska between tariff war

The shared military exercises of India and the US, which is going to start in Alaska from next month, will put a significant emphasis on dealing with traditional, non-traditional and hybrid hazards. In the midst of the tariff dispute between the two countries and the ongoing tension over the mediation of operation vermilion, this exercise is considered very important.

The maneuvers are going to be held from 1 September in Fort Wenerite in Alaska and Fort Greege. This is the 21st edition of the annual military exercise between India and the US forces. This exercise is a year in India and one year in America.

400 soldiers of Madras Regiment will take part

According to the information, the exercise going to be held in Alaska is being considered as the biggest version ever. 400 soldiers of the Madras Regiment of the Indian Army are going to participate in this exercise, which is the highest in military exercises so far. 550 soldiers of the US Army (Pacific) are participating in this exercise.

Giving information about the exercise, a spokesperson of the US Embassy in the capital Delhi said that the purpose of the exercise is to increase joint inter-governing capabilities through training and technical exchange. This exercise exhibits the unity and shared objective of the exercise, part of the countries, which increases the readiness to deal with intermediateness and regional challenges.

Centered on training to deal with hybrid hazards

According to the US Embassy spokesperson, “This exercise reflects the commitment of peace (US) administration through power and permanent partnership between the United States and India.” According to the information, these training begins with training, experts and educational exchange and professional workshops between India and US forces, which focus on training traditional, non-traditional and hybrid hazards at the brigade-level and below.

Apart from this, there will also be emphasis on relief and human help during disaster. Due to Operation Sindoor (7-10 May), India and America’s relations have been tremendous for the last few months. US President Donald Trump claims that the war between India and Pakistan goes to America, but India has made it clear that the operation has been stopped due to the recitation of Pakistani DGMO.

US Army’s exercise special with Indian Army

In such a situation, Trump’s anger is on the 7th sky and he has announced to impose 50 percent tariff on India. There was a big rift in relations with India when Trump invited Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir for lunch at the White House. The US Army’s exercise with the Indian Army is considered important amidst increasing proximity to Pakistan.

Recently, the Western media published the news of cancellation of defense deal from America on India, stating tariff war reasons. Also, the visit of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to America was also claimed to be canceled in August. The Ministry of Defense, however, termed any such news as baseless.
