‘Maulvi decides in Congress, who will get tickets’, BJP replied on Maulana Arshad Madani’s claim

The controversy over the ongoing campaign to remove illegal encroachment in Assam increased this week after a statement by Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind chief Arshad Madani. Arshad Madni, head of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, claimed that he had once written a letter to Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, in which he appealed to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma not to give tickets for the election.

What did Arshad Madani say in a letter to Sonia Gandhi,

Arshad Madani, while addressing a gathering, mentioned a letter to Sonia Gandhi. Madani said about his letter that through the letter he had warned the Congress leadership about Himanta Biswa Sarma and said that Sarma is inspired by the mentality of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

He said, ‘I wrote a letter to Sonia Gandhi not to give tickets to Himant Biswa Sarma from Congress, because they have the mentality of RSS. Now the same Himanta Biswa Sarma is throwing the entire Assam in the fire.

Other BJP leaders along with CM Sarma reacted sharply to Arshad Madani’s claim

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has reacted sharply to the claim of Arshad Madani, head of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind. Apart from him, many other leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have also targeted Arshad Madani about this.

Reacting sharply to Arshad Madani’s statement, Assam CM Himant Biswa Sarma said, ‘Today Arshad Madni has threatened me and before that Rahul Gandhi also threatened me. I want to tell Madani that the more you threaten me, the more the people of Assam will stand up and fight against him. We will continue our campaign to remove illegal encroachments and ensure the land rights of the original residents of Assam. I challenge both Arshad Madani and Rahul Gandhi to show them to the people of Assam, we will be defeating them.

BJP IT chief responds

At the same time, BJP’s IT chief Amit Malviya also reacted to Arshad Madani’s comment. While sharing a post on X, he also targeted the Congress party and questioned, ‘Do the clerics decide who will get the Congress ticket? It is now slowly becoming more clear that the Congress is standing in the wrong side of the civilization debate.
