ED’s major action on DMFT scam in Chhattisgarh, 4 crore cash and 10 kg silver seized

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken a big action in Chhattisgarh on Wednesday and Thursday (3-4 September 2025). In these two days, the ED raided 28 places across the state. These raids were conducted on bases associated with the District Mineral Trust Trust (DMFT) scam. It included contractors, vendors and their middlemen’s houses and offices, which were associated with Chhattisgarh State Seed and Agricultural Development Corporation. In this raid of ED, Rs 4 crore cash, 10 kg silver bullion and several important documents and digital devices have been recovered.

What happened in ED investigation,

The ED started the investigation on the basis of the FIRS which was registered by the Chhattisgarh Police. It is alleged that government officials misused DMFT funds in association with some contractors and middlemen. Actually, DMFT Trust runs with the money received from mining companies. Its purpose is to help those who are affected by the mining project. However, the investigation revealed that officers and contractors made a plan to grab this money.

350 crores rupees Dmft Fund manipulation

The ED investigation revealed that the DMFT fund of about Rs 350 crore was misused through the Seed Corporation. Contractors were given agriculture equipment, mini dal mills, seeds, supplies of supplies in the name of Seed Corporation. But the real price of these contracts was charged up to 60 percent of the commission/bribe, which used to reach government officials through middlemen.

21.47 crore property attached and three officers have been arrested first

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had earlier attached a property worth Rs 21.47 crore in this case. Not only this, a charge sheet has also been filed in this case. In which 16 people have been accused. So far, IAS officer Ranu Sahu, state service officer Maya Verrier and Manoj Kumar Dwivedi have been arrested in this case. The ED says that the investigation of this scam is still going on and there may be more big revelations in the coming days.
