Supreme Court: ‘Munna Bhai should stay inside’, Supreme Court comments on the bail plea of the person who got the exam from another instead
The Supreme Court has reprimanded the accused for sending another person to take the exam. Commenting on the petitioner who reached the Supreme Court after the bail plea was rejected from the High Court, the court said, “Such Munna Bhai should remain inside.” However, later the court issued a notice on the petition and said to hear after 4 weeks.
Petitioner Sandeep Singh Patel was arrested on charges of disturbances in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). It is alleged that he sent a person named Lokendra Shukla in his place in the CTET examination held on 15 December 2024. For this, fake admit card and wrong biometric identity were used. The matter came to light when the officials of the examination center were suspicious.
Argument in Supreme Court
In the Supreme Court, Patel argued that the rest of the accused in the case have got bail. On this, Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta said, “Such people are ruining the entire system of public examinations. The loss of their dishonesty is to bear the loss of true and hardworking students.”
Case filed under which law
In the case, a case has been registered under the Code of Justice of India (BNS) and Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention) Act, 2024. He had argued in the Allahabad High Court that he was admitted to the hospital during the examination. He does not know who went to take the exam. He did not contact any fake solver or other person, nor paid. The UP government had claimed in the High Court that there is enough evidence against Patel. It is clear from the call record that he was in touch with the accused. After this, on 8 July 2025, the High Court refused Patel as the chief beneficiary of the case and refused bail.
