Projects worth Rs 18,000 crore for Assam

PM Modi further said, ‘I have been in North East for the last two days. Whenever I come to North East, I get unprecedented love and blessings. The love and affection I get in this region of Assam, especially, is amazing. I express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you. Today is very important for the glorious journey of developed Assam, developed India. Today Assam has received projects worth about Rs 18,000 crore.

Attacking the Congress, he said, ‘Amidst these efforts of development, a challenge in front of Assam is becoming more and more and this challenge is infiltrated. When the Congress was government, he gave land to the intruders and protected the illegal occupation. The Congress spoiled the balance of demographics of Assam in the greed of vote bank.

Mission ‘Basundhara’ praised PM Modi

The PM further said, ‘Now the BJP government is fighting this challenge with the people of Assam. I would also like to praise the Assam government for Mission ‘Basundhara’. Under this, land leases have been given to millions of families. The BJP is fully committed to improving the historical injustice done to the tribal society.

Regarding development works in Assam, Prime Minister Modi said, “The BJP’s dual -engine government is not only reviving the rich cultural heritage of Assam, but is also establishing a strong relationship between its traditional identity and modern aspirations.”

Assamese language got classical language status

He said, ‘In contrast, the Congress’s period was full of separatism, violence and controversies in the Northeast. However, the BJP is committed to making Assam a rich state, which connects development with its glorious heritage easily. Our government has honored it even more by giving the status of classical language to the ‘Assamese’ language, recognizing its cultural and historical importance.

PM Modi said, ‘Congress has ruled the country for a long time. Here in Assam, the Congress has run the government for several decades, but as long as the Congress governments remained, the pace of development remained slow and the legacy was also in crisis. BJP’s double engine government is empowering the old identity of Assam.
