After the Manipur violence, PM Modi’s first visit to Imphal and Churachandpur; 8500 crore will give gift
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Manipur today (13 September). PM Modi’s visit is considered important to strengthen the peace and development efforts of Manipur. The Prime Minister will reach Churachandpur from Aizawl in Mizoram and will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development projects there.
1. PM Modi’s visit will begin with Aizawl in Mizoram, where he will lay the foundation stone of projects worth more than Rs 9,000 crore and inaugurate.
2. These projects include the Bairabi-Ciyrang railway line, 45 km long Aizawl bypass Road, Thanjaval-Siyalasuk and Khankourne-Rongura Road and LPG Bottling Plant at Mulkhang.
3. Apart from this, he will also lay the foundation stone of the Chimatuipui River Bridge and Khelo India Multipurpose Indoor Hall on Longlai-Siaha Road. The new train services connecting Aizawl to Delhi, Guwahati and Kolkata will also be inaugurated, dedicating the railway line to the nation.
4. PM Modi will later visit Churachandpur in Manipur, which is the main area of ​​the Cookie community and was among the most affected areas of the 2023 violence. At least 260 people were killed and thousands of people were displaced in the violence. PM Modi will be the first Prime Minister to visit Churachandpur after 1988.
5. PM Modi will go to the state capital Imphal at 2:30 pm. Here he will inaugurate projects worth more than Rs 1,200 crore and will address a public meeting in Kangra Fort.

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the new police headquarters of Manipur (Mantripukhri, Imphal), which costs Rs 101 crore, as well as inauguration of the new Civil Secretariat, which costs Rs 538 crore. Apart from this, drainage and asset management system project of Rs 3,647 crore and Manipur Infotech Development (MIND) project of Rs 550 crore will also be started.
