Congress party general secretary Jairam Ramesh said that the comments made by Asim Munir in the context of the nuclear struggle between India and Pakistan are the most dangerous, inflammatory and completely unacceptable.
Munir threatened to destroy Indian infrastructure
Addressing Pakistani migrants in Tampa, Florida, Asim Munir allegedly threatened a nuclear attack, saying that his country’s existence in the war with India in future could be threatened. The Pakistani army chief also warned that if India disrupted the water flow going to Pakistan, Islamabad would destroy the Indian infrastructure.

He also mentioned that on August 8, 2025, Field Marshal Marshair was in Tampa, Florida to attend the farewell ceremony of Michael Kurilla, Head of the American Central Command, and the same Kurillas had earlier praised Pakistan as a magnificent ally in anti-terrorism campaigns.
Congress leader condemns Asim Munir’s statements
The Congress leader said, “In a conversation with American migrants on August 10, 2025, Field Marshal Asim Munir makes the most dangerous, inflammatory and completely unacceptable comments on the nuclear conflict between India and Pakistan. Congress strongly condemns these comments. It is a strange thing that the American establishment is giving such a special status to such a person.”
