Arrest in Sonam Wangchuk NSA, Curfew in Leh also on the third day, delegation from MHA officers, know Ladakh’s latest update


There was heavy violence in Leh on 24 September amid the demand to make Ladakh a separate state, after which activist and environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk was arrested under the National Security Act (NSA). Curfew continues in Leh on the third day after the violence and there is tension in Ladakh, but now there is peace.

After the arrest of Sonam Wangchuk, the authorities are apprehensive of protests in Ladakh. Wangchuk has been arrested under NSA and kept in Jodhpur Jail. At the same time, a new round of talks are expected between the representatives of Ladakh and the Ministry of Home Affairs in New Delhi on 29 September.

Lab and KDA Dailing will be available from Home Ministry officials

A seven -member delegation of LAB and KDA will leave for Delhi to meet the officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs at 12 noon. Let us know that some members will come from Jammu and most of the members will come from Leh after holding SpiceJet’s flight. These members will meet at 11 am tomorrow at Ladakh Bhavan, Chanakyapuri.

40 police and CRPF jawans have been injured in violence

Earlier on Wednesday, protesters set fire to BJP office and government buildings in Leh. Police burnt the vehicles and attacked the security forces. 40 police and CRPF personnel are also among the injured. Strict prohibition has been implemented by the administration and people are being appealed to restore peace. Police and CRPF have a huge deployment in sensitive areas of the city.

Please tell that additional security forces have been deployed in areas where violence took place. The administration has held Sonam Wangchuk responsible for provoking violence, saying that her inflammatory statements provoked the youth. Internet speed in Leh has been slowed down.

The solution will be done through dialogue

The government has said that we are committed to constitutional security to fulfill the expectations of the people of Ladakh. It was also clarified that many important decisions have been taken through negotiations. In this, reservation of scheduled tribes was increased from 45 percent to 84 percent. One-third reservation for women has been ensured in the councils.
