Asia Cup 2025: Pakistan’s new drama! PCB Chief Naqvi will pay the fine of Haris Rauf, know why

Asia cup 2025: The final of the Asia Cup 2025 is to be played between India and Pakistan on 28 September (Sunday) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Even before the title collision, the Pakistan cricket team is in the headlines due to the antics outside the field. The Pakistan team, which reached the finals somehow, is now caught in another controversy.

In fact, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced that he will repay the amount of fine on fast bowler Haris Rauf himself. The decision came when the International Cricket Council (ICC) imposed a fine of 30 percent of his match fees on Haris Rauf due to abusive and indiscipline in the Super-4 match against India.

Why is Naqvi’s move only symbolic?

According to the rules, any fine imposed by the ICC is deducted from the match fee of the player. That is, in the records, the cut from Haris Rauf’s earnings will be recorded, even if the amount will be filled with his pocket. In such a situation, this decision will be considered only a step like support and morale to the players.

Rauf and Farhan’s actions became controversy

In the Super-4 match against India, Haris Rauf was not only seen making objectionable gestures, but also talked to Indian players in indecent language. Along with him, Pakistani opener Sahibzada Farhan was also engulfed in controversies. After completing the half -century, Farhan gestured with his bat ‘Gun Celebration’. For which the ICC warned him.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had filed an official complaint with the ICC regarding these incidents. Only after this, action was taken on both Pakistani players.

Surya was also fined

Interestingly, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has also faced ICC action on Pakistan’s complaint. Surya dedicated India’s victory over Pakistan in group stage to the Indian Armed Forces. PCB looked at it with politics and lodged a complaint. The ICC also found Surya guilty of violating the rules and cut 30 percent of their match fees.

Not just cricket in Indo-Pak matches

Both Indo-Pak matches of Asia Cup 2025 have been in discussion for more emotions and controversies than sports so far. Prior to the finals, this step of the PCB chairman clearly shows that Pakistan is trying to challenge India not only on the field but also outside the field.

Now it has to be seen whether Pakistan’s drama continues in the high-voltage finals to be held on September 28 or Team India once again responds to the neighboring country with its performance.
