Attack on Assam Rifles convoy in Manipur, 2 soldiers martyred, many injured

In Bishnupur district of Manipur, terrorists attacked the Assam Rifles vehicle on Friday evening. Two soldiers were killed and at least three others were injured in this attack. The incident took place in Nambol Sabal Leikai area around 6 pm when the vehicle of the soldiers was going from Imphal to Bishnupur. The injured were rushed to the hospital with the help of police and local people.

Giving information about the case, the senior security officer said that two soldiers of Assam Rifles were killed in the attack of terrorists in Bishnupur district of Manipur, including a JCO and a soldier. Two soldiers are injured. After attacking the vehicle of the soldiers on the busy road, the terrorists escaped in a white van. The soldiers retaliated with restraint so that no civilian casualties were there. The security force has started a search operation to catch the terrorists hiding behind the attack.

Governor’s strong condemnation
Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla strongly condemned the attack. In a statement issued by Raj Bhavan, it was said that two brave soldiers of Assam Rifles were martyred while protecting the country. The Governor expressed deep condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayed for the early health benefits of the injured. He said that such disgusting attacks will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Former Chief Minister N Biren Singh’s statement
Former Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh also condemned the attack. He said, ‘The attack on brave soldiers of our 33 Assam Rifles is sad. The news of the martyrdom of two soldiers and the injuries of others has been deeply shocked. The courage and sacrifice of the martyrs will always be remembered. Criminals should get severe punishment.

It is believed that this attack may be the result of a big conspiracy. At the same time, the investigation is also focused on whether there was any negligence in the security system in the path of the convoy of Assam Rifles.
