Before Bihar elections, NIA arrested a big arms supplier, was the most wanted in AK-47 case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a wanted accused in Muzaffarpur’s famous AK-47 rifle and explosive seizure case. The name of the arrested accused is Manzoor Khan alias Babu Bhai.

According to the NIA, he is considered close to Vikas Kumar, the main accused in this case. Manzoor is accused of being involved in a conspiracy to supply dangerous rifles like AK-47 and other weapons in Bihar. This supply of weapons was being done from Nagaland to Bihar.

4 people have been arrested before
According to the NIA, initially this case was registered by Fakuli police. When the police recovered an AK-47 rifle and live cartridges from near Murghtia Bridge. At that time four people were arrested and a charge sheet was filed against them in the ARMS Act.

This case was very serious, so this case was assigned to NIA. The NIA took up the case in August 2024 and the role of Manzoor Khan came out during the investigation. The agency says that Manzoor and his associates had planned this weapon smuggling to disturb public pieces and security.

NIA has already filed the first supplementary charge sheet against four accused Vikas Kumar, Satyam Kumar, Devmani Rai and Ahmed Ansari in this case. Sections 120B (Criminal Conspiracy) of the IPC and sections 13 and 18 of UAPA were imposed on these.

NIA investigation in case continues
The NIA has made it clear that these cases are still under-investigation and more revelations can happen soon. The agency says that this smuggling of weapons is not only connected to the local level but a large network, which was to endanger the security of the country.
