There was an uproar on Thursday (August 7, 202) during the ration card distribution program in Kumaram Bhim Asifabad district of Telangana. In this government program organized at Raithu Vedika, Janakpur, BRS MLA Kovalakshmi and Congress constituency in -charge Ajmi Shyam Nayak took a violent form. The situation became uncontrollable when MLA Kovalakshmi threw a bottle of water at Shyam Nayak, which increased tension among supporters of both sides.
Several officials including additional collector David were present in the program. David said in his speech that during the tenure of the previous government, there was a delay in distribution of ration cards. MLA Kovalakshmi objected to this statement and defended the works of the former BRS government. During this, Shyam Nayak questioned the statements of the MLA and asked why the old government issues are being raised in the government program. After this, the verbal war that started between the two leaders soon turned into a sharp debate.
MLA threw water bottle, Shyam Nayak started slogans
As the dispute increased, Kovalakshmi angrily threw a bottle of water at Shyam Nayak. Angered by this, Congress supporters started shouting slogans against the MLA. Shyam Nayak, blaming the incident, demanded strict action against the MLA. He said, “Such incidents are shameful for democracy and BRS leadership should resign from Kovalakshmi.”

On the other hand, MLA Kovalakshmi retaliated and accused Shyam Nayak of breaking the protocol and doing petty politics. He said, “She is a tribal woman and Shyam Nayak tried to intimidate her.” Kovalakshmi demanded the Congress high command to take action against leaders like Shyam Nayak.
This incident has warmed the political atmosphere at the local level. Tension continues between supporters of both sides and this dispute can remain a topic of discussion in the politics of Telangana for a long time.
