BSNL and the government did not suffer any revneue loss mos in parliament

Minister of State for Communications Dr. Pammasani Chandrashekhar said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday that the BSNL and the government have not lost any revenue and the recent estimates quoted in the CAG report were based on the misinterpretation of some sections. The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India has indicated some flaws in its report number 01/2025 for the year to end on March 2023 by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), including a total cumulative financial loss of Rs 1,944.92 crore, with a total cumulative financial loss of Rs 1,944.92 crore.

Asked by Congress MP Praneeti Sushil Kumar Shinde whether BSNL Reliance Jio failed to implement the Master Service Agreement with Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL), resulting in so -called damage of Rs 1,757.76 crore, the minister replied without giving detailed information that BSNL replied that BSNL gave his equipment to install his equipment on a least on the baskets of BSNL. In the written reply to the minister in the Lok Sabha, it is said, “BSNL and the government have not lost any revenue. The CAG’s estimate was based on the misinterpretation of the ad-on technology section, which has now been improved in a transparent and equitable manner. BSNL has since issued revised challans from RJIL.” In another question, the minister was asked whether BSNL has devoted his own procurement manual in the purchase of large size PIJF underground cables worth Rs 80.64 crore, which are unused.

To this, the minister said that large size PIJF underground cables were procured according to the then criteria. The lower House was told, “However, due to the changed competitive landscape in the telecom sector, the cable purchased could not be fully used. The surplus cable of Rs 70.32 crore has been issued by BSNL and the remaining cable is about Rs 23 crore.”
