Case of parties of parties who took crores of donations by not contesting elections in Supreme Court, notice issued on demand for registration rules
The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Election Commission on the demand to decide the registration and regulation of political parties. The court has said that it will have to listen to political parties in this case, so the petitioners also made them parties.
The petition states that there are no rules and regulations for political parties, therefore, many parties are formed which never contest elections. Such parties are used for things like collecting donations, white money, bullying. People with criminal and separatist history also form a unarned party.
What is said in the petition?
In the petition of advocate Ashwini Upadhyay, the raid of the Income Tax Department on some political parties has been made the basis this year. In the raid on July 13, two political parties named ‘Indian Social Party’ and ‘Yuva Bharat Atmaar Dal’ got a black money of Rs 500 crore. Similarly, on August 12, another fake political party, ‘National Sarva Samaj Party’, was detected which had deposited an amount of Rs 271 crore. These parties used to take donations in cash through hawala. After that, 20 percent of the commission was cut and returned the money to the donors from the check.

Taking advantage of that status, many times police safety, other facilities including land or housing at a discounted rate also get other facilities. East to overcome such problems CJI MN In 2011, the committee headed by Venkatachalaya drafted the ‘The Political parties (Registration and Regulation of Affairs) Bill in 2011, but no government considering it.
