Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made serious allegations against the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a press conference in Delhi on Thursday (August 7, 2025). He said that the proposed BC reservation bills by the Telangana government were sought time to meet the President for approval, but the central government tried to stop it. Reddy called it an insult to the people of Telangana and called it shameful.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said, “His entire cabinet was present in Delhi on the last three days (5, 6 and 7 August), so that the ordinance related to BC reservation could be approved by meeting the President. Unfortunately, the meeting was not found.” Reddy alleged that BJP has been plotting to crush the rights of weaker sections from the beginning. At the time of the Mandal Commission, he reminded the BJP to stop reservation by bringing the Kamandal Commission on behalf of the BJP and in the name of Rath Yatra.

Rahul Gandhi will remove Modi from the throne- Reddy

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said, “From former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to Mohan Bhagwat, everyone tried to remove Modi but he could not succeed, but in the next election, Rahul Gandhi will defeat Modi completely and take him out of the throne and provide reservation to the BC community. He said that we will destroy any obstacles in BC reservation.”

BJP is doing wrong publicity in Telangana- Reddy

Reddy also said, “BC reservation was implemented in IITs, IIMs and central universities under the leadership of Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi, but BJP also opposed it in the name of ‘Youth for Equality’. Now their attempt to increase BC reservation in Telangana is also preventing wrong propaganda in the name of Muslim reservation.”

He clarified, “There is no reservation for any religion or caste in the Bills of the Telangana government. In the local body elections, reservation is allocated at the block level for SC, ST and OBC, in which there is no mention of sub-castes.” Reddy, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy and BJP leader captive Sanjay accused Sanjay of making political rhetoric without reading the law.

BJP and BRS- Reddy trying to stop BC reservation in Telangana

The Chief Minister said that both BJP and BRS are trying to stop BC reservation in Telangana. He accused the BRS of weakening the Congress by alliance with BJP. Reddy said that BRS did not take any action in support of BC reservation nor participated in the recent dharna.

He warned that these actions of BJP and BRS are being seen as anti -BC in the society of Telangana. Reddy demanded immediate approval of the Bills and Ordinance from the Central Government and said that the Congress will take more strict steps on this issue in future.
