NDA candidate and former Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan has been elected as the new Vice President of India. A total of 788 MPs had the right to vote in this election, out of which 781 participated. The voting percentage was 98.2%. A total of 768 votes were cast, out of which 752 votes were valid. Of these, CP Radhakrishnan got 452 votes while his opponent Sudarshan Reddy got 300 votes. He won this election by a margin of 152 votes.

Who announced the result?

Rajya Sabha Secretary and Election Officer PC Modi announced that NDA candidate CP Radhakrishnan has been elected the next Vice President of India. He said that the notice was issued on August 7 for the 17th election of the Vice President and a total of 68 nominations were received. After examining the nomination, only CP Radhakrishnan and B Sudarshan Reddy were found valid.


There was so much number of total voters

All the members of Parliament in the Vice Presidential election -including the nominated members, were eligible to vote. There were a total of 788 voters, including 245 Rajya Sabha and 543 Lok Sabha members. Voting ran from morning to 5 pm, in which 767 electors cast their vote. Only one ballot box was used. The counting of votes started at 6 pm. Sudarshan Reddy got 300 first preference votes, while CP Radhakrishnan got 452 votes.
