Posting on social media ‘X’, he said that he said that Navaro is to try to explain his words by mentioning a particular caste in India, even if his aim is to show that some people are more profitable than the rest, it is very embarrassing and frightening.

Priyanka Chaturvedi said in a separate post, ‘The word Brahmin (in American reference, Boston’s aristocratic Brahmin) could not be used suddenly in the context of India on behalf of a senior person in US administration. So please avoid knowing the facts about it.

TMC leader spoke about the word ‘Brahmin’

At the same time, TMC leader Sagarika Ghosh posted on ‘X’, reacting to Navaro’s statement, ‘Boston Brahmin was once a word used for the rich class of New England in American. Even today, in the English speaking world, there is a word used to show Brahmin economically and socially rich.

Saket Gokhale also explained the use of the word ‘Brahmin’ and said, ‘A correct example of ignorance is from Peter Navaro Cambridge, Massachusetts. The word ‘Brahmin’ is used for someone who is quite rich in New England (especially Boston and in the surrounding areas). Some BJP spokespersons should start reading real books.
