During the entire monsoon session of Parliament, all MPs of the opposition, who are constantly protesting against the issue of Bihar SIR and the allegations against the Election Commission, joined the dinner party on Monday (August 11, 2025) by Congress President Mallikarjun Kherge.

This dinner party was held at Delhi’s Hotel Taj Palace, in which all the Congress MPs including Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, MP Priyanka Gandhi were included. MPs of many other parties involved in India block also reached this dinner party.

Many MPs of different parties including Akhilesh Yadav, Dimple Yadav, Jaya Bachchan, Sharad Pawar, Supriya Sule, Pappu Yadav, Priyanka Chaturvedi, Kanimozhi, Dola Sen, Mahua Manjhi, Sanjay Yadav, Misa Bharti and Tiruchi Shiva were present.

Surprisingly, three MPs of the Aam Aadmi Party, who had separated themselves from India block, also attended it, in which Sanjay Singh, Sandeep Pathak and Ashok Mittal had reached the dinner party. When AAP MPs were asked questions on whether they are going to be a part of India block once again, Sanjay Singh clearly said that we are not part of India block. Our opinion on this issue is also with the opposition, so we look together.

Regarding the dinner party, Congress MP Manikam Tagore said that we want discussion on the issue of Election Commission and SIR. Today all the MPs wanted to march from Parliament to the Election Commission, but we were arrested in between. Amit Shah Parliament and Delhi Police are controlling all.

All the MPs from the dinner party may have denied any political discussion during this party, but it is so clear that the Congress is constantly trying to add all the opposition parties against the Bihar SIR and the Dhanghli allegations against the Election Commission.

The strategy of the Congress is that under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, this issue should be made an atmosphere with a party in the whole country. A big reason behind taking all the parties of India block along is that the Congress wants to show that the entire opposition is trying to surround the BJP under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. So that the Congress can get its benefit in the upcoming elections.
