Confident Indian woman football player Manisha Kalyan said on Friday that her dream is to represent the country in the FIFA World Cup and Olympics after achieving qualification for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup to be held in Australia. Manisha, the only Indian footballer playing in the UEFA Champions League (Europe’s top professional football league), was a center of attraction in the Asmita Under-13 League held for girls at Nehru Stadium here on Friday.

He said that Asmita is a difficult platform for young girls to realize their football dreams’. Thirty -year -year -old Manisha, after encouraging eight teams participating in the Guwahati phase of Asmita, said, “My dream is now to play in the FIFA World Cup and Olympics.” Our intentions have strengthened after achieving qualification for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup to be held in Australia next year. ”

The objective of Asmita League is to discover talent at the ground level across India. Manisha said, “You now have a platform like ‘Asmita’ and the more matches you play, the better you will be” with Manisha, with Manisha, two emerging players Rekha Katki and Dosomi Rautia were also present on this occasion. Both Rekha and Dosomi have been part of the Asmita League. Dosomi has made it to the national camp, while Rekha has captained the Northeast United Football Club in the Indian Women League Division 2.
