‘East diplomat rages over the cleaning of America on increasing H-1B visa fees in the tube …’

Former senior diplomat Mahesh Sachdev has strongly criticized for the US administration for $ 1 lakh to the H-1B visa fee and then presenting a clarification on the decision. He said that this step has been taken in a hurry and this will affect the independent movement of Indian professionals.

Mahesh Sachdev said that the US administration took this decision very suddenly and did not even give a chance to the affected people to get ready. He taunted that ‘it is difficult to put toothpaste back into the tube, so now the government is trying to limit this decision’.

Pressure of American companies
Sachdev believes that American companies, who depend on H-1B employees, must have expressed displeasure over this decision. For this reason, the government had to limit the scope and it was clear that the fee would be charged only once on the new applicants. He said that despite this, its real problem remains the same. America is needed in the Indian professional technical sector, but the current administration is taking decisions keeping in mind the ‘US First’ and MAGA supporters.

Reality of unemployment
Sachdev also said that the notion is not completely correct that unemployment has increased in the US IT sector due to foreign professionals. He said, ‘The unemployment rate of American citizens in the IT sector is about 6%, while the total unemployment of the country is around 3%. The real reason is to change the technique rapidly, due to which people with old skills are left behind.

Problem for companies
According to him, American companies immediately need qualified people for innovation. In such a situation, they should either train their citizens and wait, or appoint foreign experts immediately.

New rule and impact
The US has implemented a new rule from September 21, under which new H-1B visa applications will be charged a fee of $ 1 lakh. Initially, this announcement stirred up Indian professionals and their families. Many immigration lawyers even said that the visa holders who are out of America should return in 24 hours, otherwise they can be trapped. Later, the White House clarified that this fee would only apply to new applicants, not existing visa holders. At present, many Indian professionals have been relieved by this.
