The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has carried out a major action on Saturday (August 23, 2025) in the money laundering case related to the illegal call center scam. The ED raided some 7 locations in Gurugram and New Delhi in Haryana as part of an investigation into the matter. This action was taken under the PMLA 2002 in the areas of the country’s capital Delhi and NCR.
ED investigation has revealed that the accused Arjun Gulati, Divyansh Goyal and Abhinav Kalra, Noida and Gurugram were running such call centers. These call centers were implicating American citizens by pretending to provide technical assistance. Through this scam, the accused have cheated about 15 million US dollars (about 125 crore rupees).
What happened in ED investigation?
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) started this investigation on an FIR lodged by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). CBI’s FIR was stated that some unknown accused persons targeted American citizens by running fake call centers under criminal conspiracy. The fraud was done from Delhi and surrounding areas between November 2022 to April 2024. After taking this matter into consideration, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) started this action.
At the same time, many important documents and digital evidence have been seized in the raids of ED in Delhi and Gurugram. Also, the statements of the prominent people involved in the cyber fraud were also recorded, which has revealed the entire kind of fraud.
30 bank accounts freeze, 8 luxury cars and many precious watches seized
During this action, 30 bank accounts were freed and 8 luxury cars and several precious watches were also seized. Investigation also revealed that the accused had bought luxurious bungalows and assets worth more than Rs 100 crore with the money earned from these call centers. This action of ED is considered to be a big attack on the network of cyber crime. At present, further investigation of the case is going on.
