ED’s big action in illegal mining case, raids in many districts of Punjab and attached 44 lands

The team of Gurugram Zonal Office of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken major action in the money laundering case related to illegal mining. By raiding several districts of Punjab, the ED has attached 44 lands. These include agricultural land of more than 85 acres, the price of which is said to be around 30 crores.

These lands are spread in many districts including Ludhiana, Roop Nagar, SAS Nagar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. These properties are considered to be related to Kuldeep Singh Makkar, Angad Singh Makkar, Puneet Singh Makkar and his companies.

What happened in ED investigation,

The ED investigation started on the basis of those firs of Haryana Police, in which complaints of illegal mining of sand, boulder and gravel were filed. In this work, Mubarikpur Royalty Company, Development Strategies (India) PVT Ltd, Delhi Royalty Company, JSM Foods Private Limited and PS Buildtech were also involved. Apart from these, the owners of many stone crushers and screening plants were also found to be part of this network.

The investigation has revealed that about Rs 300 crore was earned from illegal mining. Of this, only Angad Singh Makkar and his family’s share is more than Rs 110 crore. These people used to mining on the land without permission and sold minerals by making fake e-rawana. The money received from the sale of minerals was taken in cash and then distributed among the gang people.

ED has taken action in this case earlier

Even before this, the ED had taken major action in this case. At that time Dilbag Singh, Kulwinder Singh, Surendra Panwar and Angad Singh Makkar were arrested and assets worth Rs 122 crore were seized, which was also justified by the court.

ED found many important evidence in raids

The ED has also found many important documents and evidence in the raids, from which it is clear that this gang earned a hefty from illegal mining and then used different methods to make it white. In this case, the ED has also filed a charge sheet in the special court of Ambala, on which the court has taken cognizance. The investigation is still going on.
