‘The Election Commission crossed all limits of shamelessness.’ KC Venugopal made serious allegations. What did the EC answer? 2025
The Congress Election Commission is constantly attacked on Rahul Gandhi’s vote theft and the SIR issue in Bihar. On Saturday (August 16, 2025), the party once again targeted the Election Commission and has accused them of crossing all limits of shamelessness and failing to perform its constitutional duty.
Senior Congress leader and MP KC Venugopal posted on X and said that despite the serious allegations of vote theft and large-scale rigging, the Election Commission is shirking all its responsibilities. He said that constitutional authorities are expected to be an icon of honesty and not hide behind the press notes made unclear to destroy democracy.

Casey Venugopal’s serious allegations
The Congress MP alleged that the refusal to give the voter list and the draft already uploaded explains the removal of the machine-elective versions of the SIR list. He further said that he is removing CCTV footage within 45 days, submitting to the Supreme Court that he is not bound to give the reason behind the removal of 65 lakh names in the Bihar SIR process, and refusing to meet opposition MPs who are marching to meet the Election Commission. It suggests that the BJP-controlled Election Commission will not take any steps to remove the serious concerns of the public on a large scale.
Election Commission statement on allegations
Responding to the allegations of the opposition, the Election Commission said that the appropriate time to identify errors for political parties is during the period of claims and objections after the draft voter list is published. The Election Commission said in its statement that it seems that some political parties and their booth-level agents (BLA) did not investigate the voter lists at the appropriate time, and if there was any error, he did not say anything about it at that time.
