Rajeev shukla and arun dhumal in bcci: Elections are going to be held soon in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). This post has become vacant after retiring as the president of former Indian cricketer Roger Binny. At present, Rajiv Shukla is the executive chairman of BCCI. The post of IPL chairperson Arun Dhumal can also be vacant. Many big questions in BCCI Elections
Many questions have arisen before the election to be held in BCCI, in which who will sit on the post of IPL chairperson from the President of BCCI, it will now be known only after the election.
Rajiv Shukla will become the president of BCCI?
The biggest question is whether Rajiv Shukla will become the President of BCCI. Rajiv Shukla has played many roles like sub-committee, committee, IPL chairperson and manager of the Indian team and has been associated with the board for a long time. Rajiv Shukla became the Vice President of BCCI in 2020. If Rajiv Shukla is elected President of BCCI, then his term will be completed in December 2026.
According to the Supreme Court’s decision in 2022, any officer can remain an officer in this authority for six years. The BCCI has four posts of Office Bearer, including the post of Chairman, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Rajiv Shukla has been over 4.5 years for the post of Vice President. If he becomes president, then he will have to withdraw from this post in December 2026.
Arun Dhumal’s cooling-off period
The second question in BCCI election is whether IPL chairperson Arun Dhumal will have to complete the cooling of period. Arun Dhumal was made Treasurer in 2019 and in 2022 he got the role of IPL chairperson. Dhumal has completed 6 years in BCCI, but it has been three years since Office-Bearer. According to the Times of India report, if Arun Dhumal has to go to the cooling of period, then Anirudh Chaudhary can be made an IPL chairperson.
