Order to put a new picture in the document
When the counting forms were given to the voters, they were asked to submit the documents filled with their latest picture. The new picture will be used to update the records and release new voter ID cards.
According to Bihar’s draft voter list published on August 1, there are 7.24 crore voters in the state. The final voter list will be published on 30 September and the assembly elections in the state are likely to be held in November. The term of the current assembly ends on 22 November and a new house will have to be formed before that.
99 percent documents from those who fill the calculation form
According to the Election Commission, 99 percent of those who have filled the calculation form have submitted their documents. About 30,000 people have filed a petition to join the voter list, as their names were missing from the draft list.
Apart from this, Bihar has become the first state, where the number of voters per polling station has been reduced from 1500 to maximum 1200 under the rationalization process to keep the congestion low at polling stations on polling stations. Due to rationalization, the number of polling stations in the state has increased from 77,000 to 90,000. The rationalization process will finally be implemented across India. In the last Lok Sabha election, there were 10.5 lakh polling stations in the country.
