Flight disturbances in Air India flight, passenger disappeared after boarding, the airport returned to the airport

An Air India aircraft going to Delhi returned to London Heathro Airport on Sunday (September 21, 2025) when a passenger failed to climb the aircraft despite the ‘boarding pass’ being released. According to a source, the flight number AI 162 was delayed by about 45 minutes before the aircraft went to the ‘taxiway’.

When the aircraft was on ‘taxiway’, the crew came to know that one of the passengers who was issued boarding pass, did not climb in the aircraft. A spokesman from an Air India said in a statement, “Flight AI-162, which flew from London (Heathro) on September 2025 from London (Heathro), had to return due to failing to climb the aircraft, despite being marked for a passenger’s boarding pass scan and boarding.”

Aircraft returned to take off the goods

He said, ‘After getting their boarding pass scan at the door, the passenger went to the arrival area instead of the departure gate. According to the standard security protocol, the aircraft returned to the passenger’s goods and later left late. The passenger was taken into custody by the airport security officials for questioning.

Aircraft delayed in flight departure

The spokesman said, ‘Our flight team followed the necessary procedures and it was decided to return to ensure compliance with safety rules. We are sorry for the delay in the departure of the flight due to this incident. There is a specified route at the ‘Taxiway’ airport, which connects the runway to other areas such as apron, hangar and terminal, which facilitates movement between these features to the aircraft.
