Former MP Prajwal Revanna, who is serving life imprisonment, will become jail library clerk, will get such salary daily
Former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna of Karnataka has been allotted work as a library clerk in Parappana Aghara Jail. Jail officials gave this information. Revanna is serving a sentence of life imprisonment in the rape case.
According to jail officials, he will give books to fellow prisoners while working in this post and will keep records of books borrowed. A jail official told ‘PTI-language’, ‘Revanna will be given Rs 522 for each day’s work on completing the prescribed duties.’
Revanna showed interest in handling administrative work
He said, “According to the rules of the jail, the prisoners punished for life imprisonment have to do some kind of labor and they are assigned to work on the basis of their skills and desire.” Sources said that Revanna had shown interest in handling administrative work, but the jail administration has decided to deploy him in the library.
He told that one day has already passed while working on this post. Prisoners are usually expected to work at least 12 days a month and it is three days in a week.
Life imprisonment in a rape case
Revanna’s work is limited at the moment, as he spends his time to participate in the court proceedings and meet his lawyers. Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda’s grandson and senior leader of the Janata Dal (Secular) and Holenarsipura MLA HD Revanna’s son was recently sentenced to life imprisonment in a rape case by the lower court.
Let me tell you that the case against Prajwal Revanna is 2021, in which 48 -year -old woman accused Revanna of raping twice. The victim was a domestic assistant, who worked in Gannikada Farmhouse located in Hassan district of the family of Prajwal Revanna. On August 2, 2025, Revanna was sentenced to life imprisonment by the court.
