The ED conducted a big raid in Tripura, Delhi, Haryana and West Bengal on 26 August. This action is related to the ongoing money laundering investigation against Utpal Kumar Chaudhary, who lives in Tripura. The ED investigation has revealed that Chaudhary has fraudulently fraudulently fraudulently.

ED said that Chaudhary formed many fake companies and institutions, whose names were similar to government departments and institutions like PSU. Such as Directorate of Higher Education Tripura, Bridge and Roof Company and Directorate of Apparel Council of India. People were assured by these names that these are real government departments and people joined them and made investment.

Saying senior officer, people make victims

Chaudhary used to call himself a senior officer of the Government of India and in this deception, he cheated many people and institutions by pretending to give government contracts. He used to implicate schools and colleges saying that students from Tripura would be sent to their institutions. Apart from this, the mid-day meal tender was also cheated.

The ED came to know during investigation that Chaudhary had captured an NGO named Chalkhali Swamiji Seva Sangh. He used this NGO bank account for money laundering. By showing fake rubber trading business, more than Rs 200 crore money was rotated in different states of Haryana, Delhi and Kolkata, but in reality there was no rubber business, only by showing entry on paper, money was rotated and then withdrawn.

Close relationship with some senior government officers

Investigation has also revealed that Utpal Chaudhary had close ties with some senior officers of the Tripura government. These officers used to introduce him to the businessman by calling him a high-rank officer. Taking advantage of this network, he collected crores of rupees from people.

The ED was detected a large number of fake government stamps, fake ID cards of ministries, digital data, Rs 7 lakh cash and more than Rs 60 lakh bank balance during raid. Apart from this, evidence of real estate and land investment in Tripura has also been found. Currently, Chaudhary is lodged in Haryana Jail and the ED is under investigation.
