Gaza’s fake victims in India and money from mosques, spent in Ayyashi, 3 Syrian arrested

An Ahmedabad crime branch official said that a group of four Syrian people entered India on tourist visa and violated tourist visa rules. He said that Ali Mertha Al Azhar, a member of this group, was detained by the crime branch on 22 August and three others were arrested on the basis of information received from him.

Criminals plan to flee to Syria from Dubai

A release by the Crime Branch said that Al-Azhar admitted that the gang approached the mosques and asked for a donation, claiming to help Gaza victims, then blown the money on luxury. According to the release, the crime branch had received details of passports of the three Syrian citizens who absconded from Al-Azhar and issued a ‘Lukout Circular (LoC)’ against them.

According to the release, the three were caught by immigration officials at Delhi Airport a few days ago when they were about to ride in a flight to Dubai. The three had planned to flee to Syria from Dubai.

US dollar recovered from accused

A team of Ahmedabad Crime Branch reached Delhi Airport on Saturday (September 06, 2025) and brought the three accused. The three have been identified as Zakaria Hatham Al-Jaheer (34), Ahmed Ohd Alhabash (27) and Yusuf Khalid Al-Zaheer (27). All three are relatives of each other. Police recovered US $ 2,985 from the accused.

The release said that the investigation revealed that the three accused had reached Ahmedabad on a tourist visa on August 08. He stayed in a mosque in Shah-e-Alam area of ​​Ahmedabad for about two weeks and collected donations from mosques.

Pailed money from mosques as a resident of Gaza

The three described themselves as a resident of Gaza and claimed that they need money to treat their parents. All three moved from Ahmedabad to Delhi and stayed in a hotel. The release said that he had approached many mosques by becoming a resident and war victim of Gaza, but a mosque in Delhi did not give them any money. The Crime Branch has started the process of putting the accused in the black list and sending them back to their country for violating visa rules.
