Tata Motors has launched its mid-size electric SUV, Harrier EV’s rear-wheel drive (RWD) variants in India. Equipped with strong range and level-2 Adas features, the initial ex-showroom price of this vehicle has been kept ₹ 21.49 lakhs, which goes up to ₹ 27.49 lakh. This SUV is available in three variants – Adventure, Fearless and Empowered. Let’s know the characteristics of this electric SUV.
Strong performance and off-roading modes
The Harrier EV RWD variants are considered a strong contender in the electric segment. It not only offers a single 622 km single charge range, but it also has special modes for all wheel drive options and off-roading. The SUV includes options such as boost mode, rock craws, and mud rots modes, which also enable it to perform on Rough Terrain.

In addition, features such as 360 degree camera and transparent mode provide you better visibility and safety.
Tremendous level-2 adas in safety features
The Tata Harrier is also fantastic on the EV security front. It has 7 airbags (for 6 standard and 1 knees). Apart from this, smart safety features like blind spot monitor, front and rear parking sensor, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and Auto Park Assist have also been included.
The SUV has a Level-2 Adas system with features such as Adoptive Cruise Control, Driver Attention Warning and Rare View Camera Feed Inside Rear View Mirror (IRVM). This feature also provides clear views in bad weather like rain and haze.
Attractive and modern exterior design
The outdoor design of Harrier EV gives it a modern and premium appeal. Its front profile comes with closted grill and vertical stacked LED headlights. Along with this, styling elements like connected DRLs, Welcome and Goodbye Animation have also been provided.
Updates such as 19-inch new alloy wheels, aero covers, EV badging and silver C-pillar in the side profile make it different from the ICE model. Panoramic sunroof and black roof rails on the roof give it a premium SUV look.
Updated rear profiles and camera integration
Many cosmetic updates have also been made at the back. It consists of connected LED tail lamps including welcome and goodbye animation. The rear bumper has vertical slates that compensate its front look. Features such as Roof Mounted Spiiler and Rear Wiper Washer have also been included.
The most important thing is that the camera has been integrated into the shark fin antenna, which shows live traffic feed on IRVM.
Premium and take-loaded interior
The interior of the SUV is also very premium and modern. White and gray dual-tone theme gives it a fresh and elegant look. The Illuminated Tata logo and 4-spoke design have been given on the steering wheel.
The driver provides a 10.25-inch digital driver display and a 14.5-inch QLED touchscreen infotainment system in the center, which supports Dolby Atmos.
The center console has features like drive selector stock, rotary terrain mode selector, twin cupholder, electronic parking brake switch and armrest. The seats have a gray and white ladent upholstery which gives a premium feel.
Flaws of features: luxury experience
The Harrier EV has many features that also make it competitive in the luxury segment. It provides facilities like boss mode, driver seat memory function, dual-zone auto AC, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless phone charger, digital and multicolor ambient lighting.
In addition, the 10-speaker JBL sound system and panoramic sunroof make it even more special. EV specific features such as V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) charging support are also present.
Whom to compete?
Tata Harrier EV will compete with electric SUVs like Mahindra Xuv.e9 and Byd Atto 3 in the market. But due to its range, features and adas safety, it can give a tough competition to these rivals.
