A sensational case has come to light in the Alwal area of Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, where three minor girls of class 9 were deceived by deceit to Yadadrigutta and allegedly made a victim of misconduct. The police have arrested three youths and a lodge owner under the Poxo Act. This incident has run a wave of resentment in the entire city.
Alwal Police Inspector A. Prashant said that the victim girls are class 9 students in local school. On 23 September, she left the house without telling her parents. According to eyewitnesses, three youths who knew the girls at the local level, lured them in their vehicle by luring them to the temple.
Rooms on rent without investigation
On reaching Yadadrigutta, about 64 km from Hyderabad, the accused youths booked three separate rooms in a local lodge. There he misbehaved with the girls. The lodge owner rented room without any inquiry, due to which he also became a partner in this crime.
The next day, i.e. on 24 September, the accused left the girls in the Taranka area of Hyderabad. The girls remained silent in fear, but in the evening they told their parents the whole incident. Troubled parents immediately lodged a complaint with the Alwal police station.
Case filed for rape and kidnapping under IPC section
Inspector Prashant said, ‘We took immediate action based on the girls’ statement. The accused youth is a resident of Alwal and has been involved in suspicious activities earlier. The police registered a case under section 4 (gender harassment) of the POCSO Act, Section 6 (gang rape) as well as sections 376 (rape) and 363 (kidnapping) of the IPC.
The age of the arrested accused youths are said to be between 20 and 25 years, while the lodge owner is 40 years old. During interrogation, he confessed his crime. The police gathered evidence from the lodge, including CCTV footage and register. The victim girls were sent to the government hospital for medical examination, where their counseling is also being done. According to doctors, girls are physically and mentally traumatized, but their condition is stable.
