The fisheries department said that the overall impact on Indian sea food exports including Andhra Pradesh is determined by many factors. Government is giving priority to the welfare of exporters- Kurian

Union Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and Dairy George Kurien said in a written reply, “The government is giving priority to the welfare of fishermen, seafood processors and exporters in consultation with the government, seafliest exporters, industry unions, entrepreneurs and state fisheries departments.”

He said, “The government is supporting the construction and strengthening of fisheries infrastructure under the Pradhan Mantri Fisheries Sampada Yojana and Fisheries and Acquire Infrastructure Development Fund. It includes the development of fishing harbor and fish landing centers, modern posts and processing facilities. Adopting advanced techniques like aquaculture system and bioflok, installation of quality testing and diagnostic laboratories, promoting export oriented species is also included. ”

Mpeda Important role in encouragement of seafood exports- Kurian

He further said, “Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) is playing an important role in encouraging sea food exports. Under this, exporters are registered, quality standards are set and coordination with foreign importers is established. MPDA capacity building programs are organizing programs. The global market is being promoted. “

Steps for continuity of Indian seafood exports in export markets- Kurian

The Union Minister said, “The government is taking several important steps to ensure continuity and stability of Indian seafood exports in various export markets including the American market. The supply in various export markets including America is being implemented for the assessment of marine species. So that protection of marine turtles is possible. “

He said that under the scheme, the work of leaving the sea ranching i.e. marine species in the sea is being done. Artificial Reefs have been established and other biodiversity conservation measures are also being adopted. The purpose of these efforts is not only to secure the livelihood of fishermen, but also to ensure the long -term competitiveness of the maritime sector of India, diversifying the species and export markets. In this way, India is strengthening its identity as a continuous and responsible seafood exporter globally. ”
