Bcci and Apollo Tyres Contract: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has found a new sponsor for Team India’s jersey. The BCCI has confirmed the contract with Apollo Tires with its official social media handle. This contract between BCCI and Apollo Tires is two and a half years. The name of Apollo Tires on Team India’s jersey will be till March 2028. According to media reports, this deal has been done for about Rs 579 crore.
These companies bid for sponsorship
Apart from Apollo Tires for the Asia Cup, Canva and JK Cements also attended the auction. While a bid of 477 crores was made by JK Cements, Canwa imposed Rs 544 crore. But the BCCI deal was finalized with Apollo Tires for Rs 579 crore. Earlier, a 3 -year contract between BCCI and Dream 11 took place for Rs 358 crore.
Why did Team India’s sponsor change?
The Jersey of Team India was earlier named online gaming platform Dream 11 (Dream 11). But the Government of India has enacted a new law on money online gaming, due to which running online money games and promoting it will be fined and with this, those who do so may also have to serve the jail sentence. For this reason, the BCCI finished the deal in the middle before completing the contract with Dream 11.
Who is sponsor in Asia Cup?
The contract between BCCI and Dream 11 ended a few days before the Asia Cup 2025. Because of this, no sponsor name is written in the Asia Cup on Team India’s jersey. The BCCI had kept the last date of application for Team India’s sponsor till 16 September and today the name of Apollo Tires has been finalized by the board.
