‘I am Shiva devotee, I swallow all the poison’, from intruders to Operation Sindoor, what did PM Modi say in Assam?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Assam on the Northeast Mission and inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of more than Rs 18,530 crore on Sunday (14 September). Addressing a public meeting held in Darrang, Assam, he said that he is a devotee of Lord Shiva and can bear all the poison given by the enemies.

PM Modi said, “I am a devotee of Lord Shiva and take all the poison. But I cannot tolerate insult to anyone else. The Congress insulted Bharat Ratna to Bhupen Hazarika, this is wrong. It is wrong. The BJP’s double engine government is busy with full devotion to fulfill the dreams of Assam and its people.”
What PM Modi said about Assam
The Prime Minister said that after the 1962 China War, the wounds of the people of the northeast are still not healed. Emphasizing the development of Assam, he said, “India is developing the fastest in the world and Assam is also a pioneer. The ever -struggling Assam is now making remarkable progress with a growth rate of 13%. This is the result of people’s hard work and BJP’s double engine government’s joint efforts.”
PM Modi greeted Janmashtami and said that Operation Sindoor was successful with the blessings of mother Kamakhya. He said that by coming to this holy earth, he is feeling a different merit.
Congress accused of insulting Bhupen Hazarika
Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress of insulting the famous Assam artist Bhupen Hazarika. He said that the Congress President had taunted the Bharat Ratna and said that “Modi is giving Bharat Ratna to those who dance and sing.”
Emphasis on development and indigenous
PM Modi appealed to the people to give priority to indigenous products in the public meeting. He said, “Whatever you buy, buy indigenous. If you give a gift to someone, then it should be Made in India, which should have the fragrance of India’s soil.”
