Neeraj Chopra, however, praised the Indian Jewelin thrower Sachin Yadav, who was at number four in the men’s javelin throw event at the World Athletics Championship 2025. Sachin Yadav secured the fourth position by throwing an individual best of 86.27 meters. He remained away from the medal from just 40 centimeters.
After his defeat, Neeraj Chopra expressed his gratitude for the support of the fans and also resolved for a strong comeback. Neeraj, who won the silver medal in the Paris Olympics 2024, did not expect the end of the season with world athletics in Tokyo. I went there and wanted to give my best for India despite all the challenges, but that night was not for me. Thank you for the support of all of you. This defeat will inspire me to make a strong return.
Along with this, Neeraj praised his compatriot and debutant Sachin Yadav on X. He wrote that, I am very happy for Sachin who threw his personal best and almost won the medal for India.
It’s not how I had hoped to end the season, at the world championships in Tokyo. I wanted to step out there and give my best for India despite all the challenges but it wasn’t my night.
