‘If we were deciding …’, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat spoke on the election of BJP’s new national president
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has made a big statement on the election of the new president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday (August 28, 2025). The Sangh chief rejected the general perception as completely wrong and dismissed that his organization decides everything for the BJP. He said that suggestions are given to the party, but the decision takes the party. Along with this, RSS has no role in the selection of BJP’s new chief.
No differences between RSS and BJP government- Mohan Bhagwat
In response to questions on the last day of the three -day lecture series held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, Bhagwat said that there is no differences between the RSS and the BJP -led government, whether at the center or in the party’s ruled states. During the lecture chain, Mohan Bhagwat was questioned whether the Sangh decides everything for the BJP, even the selection of the president, on this question, he said, ‘This is completely wrong.’ J. P. Nadda is currently the President of the BJP and is also the Union Health Minister.
RSS It is not possible for BJP to take a decision in relation to- Mohan Bhagwat
Bhagwat said, ‘We do not decide. If we were deciding, will it take so much time? We do not decide. We do not need to decide. Take your time We do not need to say anything about this.
He said, ‘It is not possible for the RSS to take a decision in relation to the BJP. The BJP has its own expertise to handle its affairs, like the RSS has to run its branches. I have been operating branches for the last 50 years. If someone advises me to operate a branch, I am a specialist. They have been running the government for many years. Therefore, he is an expert in government affairs. We know each other’s expertise. Suggestions can be made in this but they have to take the decision because this is their area.
