‘India and China are not partners not partners’, Chinese Ambassador spoke before PM Modi’s visit
After Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s visit to India, the relationship between the two countries seems to be improving. Now Prime Minister Narendra Modi will go to Tianjin to join the Shanghai Summit (SCO), which China is watching as a big opportunity to bring the relations between the two countries back on track. Chinese Ambassador Shu Faihong said on Thursday (August 21, 2025) that PM Modi’s visit will be very important not only for SCO but also for India-China bilateral relations.
Shoo Faihong attended an event organized by the Chintan Research Foundation in Delhi yesterday, where he said this while talking to reporters. He said, ‘Prime Minister Modi’s visit to China will give new pace to the improvement and development in the relations of both our countries. A workplace from India and China is working hard to make this visit a success. We give great importance to this tour and believe it will be very successful.
Regarding Wang Yi’s visit, Shoo Faihong said that the National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and them have been agreed with a very important 10 -point consent. Under this, two functioning groups will be created, one expert group which will explore initial progress on border determination areas and the other group will work on improving border management.
In his address on the topic of ‘SCO Summit 2025 India-China relations new direction’, Ambassador Shoo Faihong said that India and China are not rival but partners and the differences should be resolved through negotiations. He said, ‘Today the world is going through a period of unrest and change. Since World War II, the deepest changes have been taking place in the international system. The importance of India-China relations has increased further in this era. Our cooperation is beneficial for both countries. We are neighbors, major developing nations and are in important stages of national revival.
Referring to the renewal of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, Shoo Faihong said that China wants to continue friendly exchange in all regions with India so that people of both countries can come to each other like their families. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who visited India, met Prime Minister Modi and submitted the message and invitation of President Xi Jinping. During this period, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to maintain peace and stability on the border and said that the solution of the border issue should be fair, properly and mutually acceptable.
On the same day, Ajit Doval and Wang Yi had a 24th talk of special representatives (SR) on the border issue. NSA Doval said during this time that after the meeting of Prime Minister Modi and President Xi Jinping in Kazan last year, positive trends have been seen in relations between the two countries and the borders have been peaceful.
