India Announs under 18 Boys Girls Teams for Asia Rugby Emirates Rugby 7S Championship 2025
Mumbai The Indian Rugby Football Union announced India’s Under-18 Boys and Girls teams for the Asia Rugby Emirates Under-18 Ragby 7S Championship 2025 to be held on 13-14 September in Hohot, China today. This team selection was done from August 1 after the intensive National Coaching Camp held at Netaji Subhash Eastern Center of Sports Authority of India, Kolkata. This camp paid special attention to the technological development, physical preparation and team coordination of the players.

Importantly, Khelo India Youth Games 2025 (Bihar) and Junior National Championship 2025 (Dehradun) played an important role in the identity and shortlisting of the players. These domestic competitions are proving to be a major medium to give competitive experiences to emerging players in the Indian rugby structure and provide opportunities at the national level.
Announcing the teams, Rahul Bose, President, Indian Rugby Football Union said:
“Our Under-18 Boys and Girls Squad are the future of Indian rugby. This championship is a big opportunity for them to test themselves and give heights to their dreams by playing with the best teams in Asia. Will wave. “
This year, the Boys team will clash with strong teams like Hong Kong China, China and Qatar in Pool-A, while the girls team will face Malaysia, Japan and Uzbekistan in Pool-D. The under-18 boys team will be captained by Bidyadhar Majhi of Odisha and Sagar Prakash will be vice-captains of Bihar. Many players will play internationally for the first time, including Pushpendra, Pranav Vilas Gavit, Arun Prajapat, Priyanshu Kumar and Atma Murmu. At the same time, Ajit Nag, Bharat Kisan, Charan Hembram, Golden Kumar, Sagar Prakash and Shivam, who were recently part of the Under-20 team, have also been selected this time.
Captain Bidyadhar Majhi said:
“It is a great honor for me to lead India. We have practiced hard and the entire team is ready to give our best on the field. Playing against teams like Hong Kong China and China will make us stronger.”
The girls will captain the team’s team Anshu Kumari of Bihar and Muskan Piploda of Rajasthan. The players joined the team for the first time – Anita Murmu, Sushila, Anushka, Samriddhi and Raimani Murmu. At the same time, Aarti Kumari, Ali Kumari, Anshu Kumari, Mamli Singh and Muskan Piploda will make the squad strong by returning from the under-20 team.
Captain Anshu Kumari said:

Former Australian 7S star Samuel Myers will coach the under-18 boys team, which will help former Indian captain Vahbij Bharucha. The girls will guide the team, Kiano -Mall, whose assistant coach will be Arun Dagar.
