India-Rus Trade Deal: Will Good News come from America? Piyush Goyal will go to US, trade deal will be made on the trade deal!

Business relations between India and America are constantly getting stronger. In the financial year 2024-25, the US remained the largest trading partner of India for the fourth consecutive year. During this time the total trade between the two countries reached 131.84 billion US dollars. America’s stake in India’s total exports was around 18 percent, which shows the importance of this partnership.

In February 2025, leaders of both countries directed to intensify the proposed bilateral trade agreement (BTA). So far, five rounds have been discussed and the goal is to finalize the first phase by October-November 2025. The main objective of this agreement is to double the Indo-US trade by 2030 to reach US $ 500 billion.

Piyush Goyal’s visit to America

India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will visit the US with a high -level delegation on 22 September 2025. This delegation will include Special Secretary Rajesh Aggarwal and other senior officials of the ministry. The main objective of this journey is to intensify dialogue towards a mutually beneficial trade agreement with the US. Earlier, in a meeting with the team of the US Trade Representative Office, who came to India on 16 September, both sides had agreed to finalize the agreement as soon as possible.

H-1B visa rules will affect change?

Recently, the US administration has reduced the H1B visa application fee to US $ 1,00,000. This decision will directly affect Indian IT companies and professionals. NASSCOM has said that this decision will affect the onshore projects of Indian technology companies and can affect commercial continuity. New applicants will have to face more expenses, affecting the chances of working in America. It is likely that Piyush Goyal will also raise this issue during a business talks.

Trump has imposed 50 percent tariff on India

The US has recently imposed a 50 percent fee on Indian goods. Apart from this, 25 percent tariffs and additional 25 percent fine have also been imposed on Indian products related to Russian crude oil. These conditions have increased tension between the two countries, but both sides believe that it is necessary to resolve these disputes through positive negotiations so that business balance can be maintained.

Indo-US joint target?

India and America have set many goals for the coming years. These include carrying trade to US $ 500 billion by 2030, reducing the additional duty on exports and imports, strengthening cooperation in technical, energy and agricultural sectors and simplifying visa policies to ease the movement of professionals.
