Indian Navy gets Made-in-India 3D surveillance radar, will be enemies in the air

Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) on Thursday (September 11, 2025) has commissioned the first Swadeshi 3D-WASR-N with the help of technology transfer from Spain company Indra on the Indian Navy warship.

TASL has become the first Indian company to construct Advanced Naval 3D Air Surveillance radar. This achievement is considered an important link in search of India’s defense self -sufficiency. This system has been assembled and integrated locally.

After marine tests included

The radar has been easily integrated with all the systems of this Indian Navy warship. Before the inclusion of this radar, it has been passed into comprehensive sea trials, where its capacity was deployed to test the performance in a range of radar cross-sections for its capacity.

Regarding this, Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) also issued a press release, in which the company’s CEO and Managing Director, Sukarna Singh said, ‘Our cooperation with Indra reflects our commitment to strengthen radar manufacturing capabilities in India. Through on-ground coordination, technical expertise and strong supply chain, we are creating a strong ecosystem for advanced defense techniques.

Radar factory set up in Bengaluru

At the same time, Indra Naval Business Head, Ana Buinida said, ‘This project goes beyond the delivery and deployment of radar only. This helped us set up a radar factory in Bengaluru in India, which can provide more efficiency and close services to the customer.

The release said that Tata Advanced Systems Limited is a Tata group company that makes aerial and defense -related technology in India. The company produces airplane structures, their engines and army -used systems, such as safety equipment and vehicles. This company works closely with the world’s big defense companies and sometimes supplies them alone alone.
