Explanation was sought on alleged disturbances of PM Relief Fund

The police officer warned that punitive action will be taken under section 210 for not following the notice.

In which case is FIR registered on Rahul Gandhi
Earlier in February this year, an FIR was registered against Rahul Gandhi in Jharsuguda. This FIR was recorded on Rahul Gandhi’s statement during the inauguration ceremony of the Congress headquarters, in which he accused the BJP and the RSS of capturing national institutions. He had said, “Now we are fighting against BJP, RSS and Indian state.”

This case is especially important because it is one of the first high-profile cases registered under BNSS (Basic National Security Act). BNSS replaced the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in July 2024. This change has led to a big change in the legal process of matters related to national security and public system. Inspector General (Northern Range) Himanshu Lal said, “The police have every right to investigate the matter. The matter is moving well.”
