Independence Day 2025: On Friday (August 15, 2025), the Congress targeted the Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi and claimed that the mercy of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat’s ‘blessings’ to continue in the post of PM Modi, so he made a frustrated attempt to please this organization with the ramparts of the Red Fort.
Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh also claimed that the Prime Minister was tired today and will soon retire. He also said that this politicization of Independence Day for personal and organizational benefits is very harmful to the democratic values of the country.
PM’s speech old, filled with hypocrisy
Ramesh posted on ‘X’, ‘Prime Minister’s speech was old, hypocrisy, monotonous and boring today from the ramparts of the Red Fort. The same repeated slogans like developed India, self-reliant India and ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ are being heard from year to year, but no concrete result has been found.’
He said, “The most disturbing aspect of the Prime Minister’s speech today was to take the name of the RSS from the ramparts of the Red Fort, which is a severe violation of the spirit of a constitutional, secular republic.” Ramesh alleged that it is nothing but a frustration -filled attempt to please the RSS before his 75th birthday next month.
PM Modi will be retired soon
The Congress leader said, ‘After the incidents of June 4, 2024, the Prime Minister, who has become decisively weakened, is now completely dependent on the mercy of the RSS and is dependent on the blessings of Mohan Bhagwat for the expansion of his tenure after September. This politicization of Independence Day for personal and organizational benefits is very harmful to our democratic values. Ramesh claimed, “Today the Prime Minister was tired, soon he will retire.”
Narendra Modi, in his address to the ramparts of the Red Fort, mentioned the completion of 100 years of the establishment of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and said that the country is proud of the national service of this organization. He also said that RSS is the largest NGO in the world and it will continue to inspire.
Semeconductor chip promise countless times
Referring to some other points of the Prime Minister’s address, Ramesh said that the ‘Made-in-India’ semicondia chip has now been promised countless times. Ramesh says, “Actually, it has been done with a big lie, which is the identity of Modi ji, because India’s first semiconductor complex was established in Chandigarh in the early 1980s.”
According to him, their rhetoric on the defense of farmers is hollow and incredible. The Congress claimed that the showy things made by targeting employment generation have also become a hollow ritual instead of a reliable roadmap.
PM did not respond to Rahul Gandhi’s allegations
He alleged, ‘The Prime Minister gave a lot of speeches on unity, inclusion and democracy at a time when he took over and demolished the downfall of our most basic constitutional institutions like the Election Commission. The Prime Minister has not yet answered the most basic questions raised by the Leader of Opposition (Rahul Gandhi) on the credibility of the election system.
He said, ‘PM has given full strength regarding the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar, which has deprived millions of voters. Their claims to empower the states are hollow, as the center is engaged in weakening the federalism, marginalizing elected state governments and strangling or demolishing the governments operated by the opposition. Independence Day should be a moment of foresight, clarism and inspiration.
PM’s address of self-appreciation and a mixture of select things
Ramesh alleged, “Instead, today’s address was a dull mixture of self-pretending and select things, which lacked deep economic crisis, unemployment crisis and any honest acceptance of growing and horrific economic inequality in our society.”
