Jammu and Kashmir: Army killed two terrorists, 2 military personnel martyred in Operation Goodar

Two militants were killed and two military personnel were killed in a fierce encounter on Monday in Gudar forest of Kulgam district in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. The officers provided this information. Officials said that one of the slain terrorists is suspected to be a Pakistani citizen. An army major was also injured in the encounter.

He said that the security forces started a search operation after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the Goodar forest area. During the search operation, the encounter started after the terrorists opened fire on the security forces.

Two army soldiers martyred
Officials said two soldiers were injured in the encounter during the campaign, who were identified as Subedar Prabhat Gaur and Lance Nayak Narendra Sindhu. Apart from this, an army major was also injured. Gaur and Sindhu died due to serious injury, while the condition of Major is stated stable.

The Army’s Chinar Corps in Kashmir said in a post on ‘X’ that it respects the highest sacrifice of brave military personnel Subedar Prabhat Gaur and Lieutenant Commander Narendra Sindhu. His courage and dedication will always inspire us.

Operation was carried out after getting intelligence information
Earlier, after receiving intelligence from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Indian Army, Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) conducted a joint search operation in the Gudar forest of Kulgam.

Vigilant soldiers saw suspicious activity and challenged the terrorists, ‘after which there was a fierce firing from both sides. According to preliminary information, one of the slain terrorists was local. At the same time, another terrorist is suspected to be Pakistani, whose code name was ‘Rahman Bhai’. Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat visited the encounter site in Gudar, where he appreciated the joint operation Operation Goodar under the leadership of the army.
