Pakistan unveiled the Taimur missile in the year 2022 and introduced it as an Air-Lanched Cruise Missile (ALCM). It has been developed by Pakistani Global Industrial and Defense Solutions (GIDS). It is a heavy missile due to the length of 4.38 meters and weighs about 1100 kg, which fly at a sub-Sonic speed.

Pakistan claims that the Timur missile has a firepower of up to 600 km. It is capable of attacking an accurate prince up to 250 kilometers. This includes Advanced Imaging Infrared (IIR) Sikar and Multi-Government System. It is equipped with ‘Terraine-Hugging’ and ‘C-S-Skiming’ technology, from which radars can catch it late. That is, Pakistan is calling it an ideal weapon to target the airbase of India’s airbase, radar station and Navy.

Comparison with scalp and BrahMos
The Timur missile is constantly compared to Pakistan with France’s SCALP missile and the Joint Project of India-Russia BrahMos. The range of the SCALP missile is about 500 km and close to the speed supersonic, while Timur flies only at subcononic speed. The BrahMos missile is known for its hypersonic ability and extremely low response time, while Timur’s speed is its biggest weakness. In Operation Sindoor, India gave a deep injury to Pakistan using Scalp from Rafale Fighter. Perhaps this is why Pakistan tried to present Timur as an alternative to Scalp. In fact, in technical terms Timur could not match the missile scalp or BrahMos.

JF-17 and Timur’s Integration
Pakistan’s second major claim is that it has integrated the Timur missile in the JF-17 fighter jet created with the help of its China. This makes him feel that the balance of Indian Rafale + Scalp Combination will change. Pakistan has got a stand-off strike capacity by fitting it on the JF-17 platform. Pakistani websites claim that this threatens India’s naval bases and airbase, but platforms like Super Su-30 MKI, Mirage-20 and Rafael with India prove to be more advanced and fatal than platforms JF-17 and Taimur.

S-400 and India’s Multi-Level Defense
Pakistani propaganda sites say that the Taimur missile can also penetrate India’s S-400 air defense system, but this claim is just a false propaganda. The S-400 is specially designed to intercept low-flying cruise missiles. India has not only depended on the S-400, but has created a multi-layered air defense system with Akash-NG, Barak-8, Qrsam and DRDO ballistic missile defense. In such a situation, Timur cannot distinguish India’s security shield. The gamechanger theory that Pakistan has spread is just a strategy to create psychological pressure.
